Resting on 50 gorgeous lakeside acres, Cedar Creek Club is one of the best-kept secrets in the Cashiers-Highlands area. At 3500 feet, we are the perfect place to unplug from the everyday and reconnect with friends, family and loved ones. We are conveniently located just minutes from Cashiers and a short drive from Highlands and are surrounded by lush national forest. From antique shopping to zip lining above the canopy, Cedar Creek Club sits at the center of it all.

Our Setting

Cedar Creek Club sits on the pristine shores of Lake Lupton, embraced on all sides by the majestic beauty of the Blue Ridge Mountains. It is an idyllic setting for the pursuits of sport and community, where family fun and friendly rivalries are the order of the day and lasting friendships are formed both on and off the playing courts and fields. The CCC story, however, begins long before tennis nets went up and fault lines were drawn.

Our History

In a time when the pace of life was a little slower than it is now, a couple from Chattanooga took a look around the Cashiers area and decided to make it their summer home. The Luptons found their mountain retreat on the banks of the Horsepasture River, where towering hemlocks and stately pines were breathing new life into the 730 acres of previously timbered land. Like the first settlers of this area, the Luptons knew they’d found something akin to paradise. Here, where wildlife was abundant, soil was fertile, and the mild climate was perfect for enjoying the long evenings of summer, here… was a good place to call home. The Luptons christened their new home “Sleepy Valley", dammed a portion of the Horsepasture River to form Lake Lupton, and wove themselves into the fabric of Cashiers’ vibrant social community.

Our Direction Forward

Today, Cedar Creek stands as a testament to its storied beginnings. The Luptons’ stately farmhouse, with its classic Southern styling, is our clubhouse. Its vast porches are the perfect place for enjoying the cool summer breeze and a refreshing glass of iced tea or wine after a friendly tennis match. Family and friends meet for friendly conversation, watching as a game of croquet unfolds on the lawn below. Our members enjoy quiet intimate dinners in the elegant dining room or on the covered deck overlooking the lake, shaded by the poplars and pines that grace its shores.

Families make the most of long summer days and the cool relief of Lake Lupton, enjoying a swim, an outing on a canoe or the quiet patience of fishing its well-stocked waters. Old logging roads on the property are now well-marked hiking trails that guide you through the immense beauty of the surrounding forest and mountains. And each summer, kids meet in the restored caretaker’s cottage where our children’s programs entertain and enlighten our youngest members.

The Cedar Creek world is one of classic living, friendly competition and relaxed southern hospitality. We invite you to become a part of our rich heritage.
